This glossary is for people who start marketing and want to know the basic words about marketing. My glossary has 20 words with all of their definition. They were found on different sources like ''Investopedia'' or the ''Cambridge dictionary''. This glossary will help students to find easily related word about marketing.
- advertising
- The activity or profession of producing advertisements for commercial products or services.
- Example: Movie audiences are receptive to advertising.
- advertising network
- A network representing many Web sites in selling advertising, allowing advertising buyers to reach broad audiences relatively easily through run-of-category and run-of-network buys.

- B2B
- Business-to-business (B2B) is a transaction or business conducted between one business and another.
- Example: B2B transactions tend to happen in the supply chain, where one company will purchase raw materials from another to be used in the manufacturing process.
- barter
- Exchange (goods or services) for other goods or services without using money.
- Example: He often bartered a meal for drawings.
- benefit
- An advantage or profit gained from something.
- Example: Enjoy the benefits of being a member.
- brand
- A type of product manufactured by a particular company under a particular name.
- Example: A new brand of detergent.
- business
- The activity of buying and selling goods and services.
- Example: My brother's in business.

- A person who buys goods or services for their own use.
- Example: Agricultural companies have failed to convince consumers that GM foods are safe.

- distribution
- The process of transporting products from a manufacturer, storing them, and selling them to different stores and customers.
- Example: We handle the distribution of the product in the US and Mexico.
- inbound marketing
- The inbound methodology is the method of growing your organization by building meaningful, lasting relationships with consumers, prospects, and customers. It’s about valuing and empowering these people to reach their goals at any stage in their journey with you.
- Example: A skillfully crafted blog post about a blogger's favorite product will speak to this potential customer in a way a banner ad can't.
- market
- The people who might want to buy something, or a part of the world where something is sold.
- Example: We estimate the potential market for the new phones to be around one million people in this country alone.

- Example: At its core, marketing seeks to take a product or service, identify its ideal customers, and draw the customers' attention to the product or service available

- A combination of factors that can be controlled by a company to influence consumers to purchase its products.
- products
- An article or substance that is manufactured or refined for sale.
- Example: Food products.
- promotion
- An advertisement, event, or other activity used to advertise a product or service, or the use of these advertisements, events, etc.
- Example: The supermarket has said it will extend the promotion for another week.
- sales
- The number of items sold.
- Example: US car sales got off to a hot start in January.

- The fact that a market is or can be divided into different groups of customers, who have similar characteristics or needs.
- Example: The key to marketing success lies in segmentation of the market.
- target
- To direct advertising, criticism, or a product at someone.
- Example: The advert for the energy drink is targeted specifically at young people.

- A target market refers to a group of customers to whom a company wants to sell its products and services, and to whom it directs its marketing efforts.
- Example: Not knowing who the target market is could cost a lot of money and time for a company.
